Announcements from TheologicalStudies.org

Hello everyone!

We have three announcements for you.

1. First, the newest edition of The Master’s Seminary
Journal is hot off the press. Make sure you get a copy!
This Spring 2008 journal includes the following articles:

--“Exegetical Fallacies: Common Interpretive Mistakes Every
Student Must Avoid” by William D. Barrick. (If you liked
D.A. Carson’s book, Exegetical Fallacies, you will like
this article.)

--“Promises to Israel in the Apocalypse,” by Robert L.
Thomas (Dr. Thomas shows how the Book of Revelation relates
to God’s promises to Israel.)

--“Rejection Then Hope: The Church’s Doctrine of Israel in
the Patristic Era,” by Michael J. Vlach. (This article has
rarely seen quotations from the early fathers showing that
the early church strongly affirmed a future salvation of
the nation Israel)

--“Preservation of the Bible: Providential or Miraculous?
The Biblical View,” by Jon Rehurek (Rehurek discusses an
important issue in the King James Only debate.)

--“Life and Work of Robert Dick Wilson,” by Brian Nicks
(Nicks highlights the career of this incredible scholar and
man of God who defended the Old Testament from liberalism
in his days at Princeton Theological Seminary.)

Journal visit https://www.tms.edu/journal.asp .

2. Michael Vlach has a review article of Hank Hanegraaff’s
book, "Apocalypse Code." This is not your usual book
review. It can be viewed at www.TheologicalStudies.org.

3. Michael Vlach recently was awarded the Franz-Delitzsch
Prize 2008 for his dissertation. See the press release
below for more information:

Master's Seminary Professor Wins Franz-Delitzsch Prize for
Dissertation Refuting Replacement Theology

(PRWEB) April 26, 2008 -- Michael J. Vlach, Ph.D., was
awarded the "Franz-Delitzsch-Prize 2008" for his
dissertation, "The Church as a Replacement of Israel: An
Analysis of Supersessionism." The award ceremony was held
on Friday April 25, 2008 at the Freie Theologische Akademie
in Giessen, Germany.

Vlach, now Assistant Professor of Theology at The Master's
Seminary in Sun Valley, California, completed his
dissertation at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
in 2004. His work analyzed the history of Replacement
Theology or Supersessionism and offered a theological
refutation of the view that the Christian church has
permanently replaced the nation Israel as the people of
God.

"This dissertation shows that when all of the biblical
evidence is examined, the Christian church cannot rightly
claim that it is the new or true Israel," says Vlach.
"There are too many passages that explicitly teach that God
is not done with His people Israel."

The award was bestowed upon Vlach by the faculty members of
the Freie Theologische Akademie. The Akademie also
recognized the work of Dr. Thomas Schirrmacher for his
German Ph.D. research on "Hitler´s Religion as a Foundation
for His Satanic Hate Against the Jews."

Vlach's dissertation will be published through Peter Lang
Publishing Group. Copies of the dissertation may also be
purchased through Theological Studies Press found at
www.TheologicalStudies.org.
